FAMISHGOD started back in early 2013 when Funëdeim (guitar/bass) joined forces with Dave Rotten (vocals) to form a new musical adventure, so they both agreed in creating somekind of dark, heavy and dense mixture of Doom and Death Metal. The initial idea was to record a 4-song demo, but things were going quite slowly during that year, so it was in early 2014 when a change in the overall vision of FAMISHGOD happened, so Funëdeim not only revamped these 4 songs, but also created 3 more and so the idea of going for a full length album instead of a demo, was born.
During all 2014, both members worked quietly but non-stopping on this album which was decided to be a conceptual work. Not only the lyrics form a whole story, but also the 12 pieces of art contained on the album were created by finnish Tommi Gromqvist from DESECRESY, based on the lyrics and helping to create the dark image of FAMISHGOD’s music. All this was keep secret during the almost two years of existence of the band, because not having anything worth listening, they didn’t want to create any expectations as anyone couldn’t listen to anything, so it wasn’t until October 2014, when the album was finished, when FAMISHGOD decided to go out from the cave and started devouring the light!!
This debut album is entitled “Devourers of Light” and was released in December 1st, 2014 through Xtreem Music. The band then started to work, with the help of three other musicians (Oli -bass-, Erik Raya -drums- & Miguel Bárez -guitar-), on their very first show ever that will take place in Madrid on 28th of February 2015 at the THE END OF THE 3rd DAY FEST alongside with bands like SATURNUS, OPHIS, AUTUMNAL…
FAMISHGOD is already working on their next album due for 2016 and who knows if there will be some more shows of the band. Only time will tell!!
